Exchage 2007 in Empty root domain of  Forest root or new Resource Forest
I would like to get someones opinion on an Exchange 2007 design questionthat I have.We are looking to migrate from Lotus Notes to Exchange. Currently we haveNotes servers spread out in 2 different sites and we would like toconsolidate our worldwide Notes email infrastructure to just two separatesites each running Exchange in CCR configuration and possibly SCR a fewdatabases between the two. One site would support our European offices andthe other site for our Asia offices. We have a Two AD forests One for European and one Asian.European one is running windows 2008 Asian one is running windows 2003 European one has an empty root domain and child domain. All account exist in the child domainAsian one houses all accounts and resources in the root domain root.eu (EU)account.root.eu (EU)root.tv (Asisa)Each Forest currently have their own administrator My question is should we 1) Create a new resource forest for exchange2) Use European Forest empty root domain as a place holder domain for exchangeI hope this is clear any thoughts welcomed

Greetings, How you design your Exchange at this point depends on what your real needs are. How many people are you going to be supporting in the end? Are you looking to go with a single namespace overall? You can choose to install Exchange wherever you like and then work out accepting email from multiple domains establishing internal or external relay domains.
